Moya Gordon, MSW, RCSWI

My name is Moya. I moved to the United States from Jamaica when I was 13 years old and have lived in several states, but I consider Florida my second home. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Social Work and a graduate-level certificate in Children’s Mental Health from the University of South Florida in May 2025. I am currently a school social worker with Hillsborough County Public Schools where I counsel students ages 11 to 14 who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Anxiety Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD), and Intellectual Disability (InD). I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution-focused, and Play Therapy techniques when working with the students. However, I take a holistic approach to therapy, blending elements from different approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. My therapeutic approach is centered around empowering clients through education, support, and guidance by helping clients develop healthy coping skills and confidence needed to navigate life’s challenges. I am committed to providing culturally responsive and inclusive care, recognizing the diversity of experiences and backgrounds that shape each client’s journey.
